Star Wars @ Science Works

Back on the last school holidays we took the boys to Science Works to see the Star Wars Exhibit. Finally I've had some time to make some layouts. The boys had a great time and enjoyed looking at all the Star Wars stuff - especially in the shop :/ isn't that always the way????

Starbow

Starbow is the class 'mascot' of Nathan's Prep class. Starbow comes to visit every couple of weeks and gets to spend the night or a weekend with us. We record in a diary the things that we do with Starbow.

Singapore

Last year Mark had several trips to Singapore for work. We were able to go too for just over a week on his final trip in September. I had these pages made into a book by Click On Print. The book turned out fabulously!

Journaling Reads:
Today was such a fun day! We caught the train to the city and went to the Wiggles Concert. After lunch we went to the Docklands and you boys had fun at the park. Then we wandered along the Esplanade and you all had fun climbing on the big flat numbers and looking at the cow up in the tree. it was such a sunny day. We got you tea at Red Rooster and then went to Starbucks for a coffee. We then caught the train back home and didn't get home until almost 8 o'clock! It was no wonder that you all fell asleep on the Train.

Our Dog Jonas

I made this album in memory of Jonas - our beautiful Golden Retriever.

Thank you for being such a wonderful dog! You were more than we ever dreamed you would be. Thanks for being such a good friend to Cameron and Nathan. We will all miss you very much. Nathan's 5th Birthday Party

Nathan's 5th Birthday Party was a Star Wars Jedi Theme. This was the invite.

We gave each of the kids a Jedi Uniform. I cut light brown material into rectangles and put a hole in the middle for the kids' heads. Then we used dark brown knit fabric to make a belt and a sash to go over their shoulders. Each costume would have cost about $3 to make. In their lolly bags they got a bubble sword that I got for $2 each from the Reject Shop - they kind of looked like light sabers. We had a light saber fight with those long balloons that you make animals with. We made them into light sabers and threw in a few normal balloons and it was fight the Death Star! The kids had a blast!

This was the name tag I put on the lolly bags. Again I used those light brown paper bags with the handles for the lolly bags.

Cameron's 7th Birthday Party

As Cameron is mad about trains, we had a train theme for his 7th Birthday Party that we held at our home. This was the invitation to Cameron's 7th Birthday Party last year.

For the Thank you card, I gave the kids the picture below with their face in the train window.

I used small brown paper bags (the ones with the handles on them) for the lolly bags and this was the label that I put on it. Each label had each child's name on it.

We gave all of the kids a train engineer cap and a red bandana, they also got a train whistle but that went in the lolly bag to be taken out when they got home. I had meant to get a group photo of all the kids in their bandanas and train engineer caps, but forgot, so this was the next best thing. (Sunglasses are on some of the kids as I haven't asked for permission for these children's faces to be on the web.)
